Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has admitted that he had N300 million in one of Zenith Bank accounts with number 9013074033.
In a series of tweets by his Special Adviser on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, with the hash tag 'Fayose Speaks', the governor said he deposited the money into his fixed deposit account before he was sworn in as governor.
He said he had declared the money in his asset declaration form.

Fayose was reacting to the allegation by the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) that he deposited the money in April 2015, six months after he had become governor.
“I declared in my assets declaration form that I had N300 million in my fixed deposit account in Zenith Bank #Fayose Speaks,”Olayinka tweeted.
The governor also, again, denied any occasion of money transaction between him and the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) in 2014.

The EFCC had alleged that Fayose's associate, Abiodun Gbele, received the N1.219 billion from the ONSA on behalf of Fayose and transferred part of the money into the governor’s current account and company account.
Fayose, according to the anti-graft agency, also moved N300 million from the money and used it to open a fixed deposit account in April 2015.
