President Buhari Names New Civil Defence Chief
President Muhammadu Buhari has announced the appointment
of Abdullahi Muhammadu as the new Commandant-General of the Nigerian
Security and Civil Defence Corps.
Buhari made this known in a statement signed by Femi Adesina, the special adviser to the president on media and publicity.
Muhammadu succeeds Dr. Ade Abolurin, who has retired from service.

Adesina noted that the new NSCDC chief, who was an Assistant Commandant-General of the NSCDC before announcement of his new post, came from Muye in Lapai local government area of Niger state.
New Civil Defence commandant has a B.Sc in Sociology from the University of Sokoto, and a Masters in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
It should be noted that since assumption of the office President Buhari is not in a hurry of appointing ministers.
However, Nigerian leader has on July 13, Monday replaced all security service chiefs and National Security Adviser.
