Presidency Denies Arrest Of Buhari's Brother-In-Law

The presidency has denied recent reports that Muhammadu Buhari ordered the Department of State Sevice (DSS) to arrest his brother-in-law Musa Yola over suspicion of fraud.

Premium Times reports that Garba Shehu, the presidential spokesperson, categorically denied
the allegations by saying:
“It is definitely not true, there is no iota of truth on this report there is no basis for the president to do that.”
Meanwhile, Yola also said that he was not arrested and was shocked to see the reports in the social media.
“As we speak, I am in the president’s office and I was with him last night,” he said.

Yola further stressed that he had never been involved in forgery or fraud and had never been apprehended by either the police or DSS or any security agency for that matter.
“I simply don’t know or understand who is behind these malicious rumours,” he wondered.
It would be recalled that reports posted on Monday, June 29, said that Buhari ordered to arrest his wife’s younger brother after he duped an unnamed businessman N300 million promising to give him political access to secure an oil block from the Buhari administration.
However, a source in the DSS said that there was no such order from the president. He also added the SSS had no one in detention bearing the name Musa Yola in recent times.
