CAN: Christian Association Elects New Leader
The elected president will serve in his position for a period of three years, along with Elder Joseph Otubu, the assumed vice-president of the association.
President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN)-Rev. Samson Olasupo Adeniyi Ayokunle (vanguard)
Rev. Samson Olasupo Adeniyi Ayokunle, the president of the Nigerian Baptist Convention (NBC), has been elected as the new president of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
Ayokunle, who is a candidate of the Nigerian Baptist Convention (NBC) won Elder Joseph Otubu of the Motailatu Church Cherubim and Seraphim Movement (MCCSW) by 57 to 28 votes.
The election was held on Tuesday, June 14, 2016. The results presenting the winner was announced by the immediate past president of CAN, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor.

The venue for the election was the National Christian Centre in Central Business Centre of Abuja, Vanguard reports.
Based on the laws guiding the association, Elder Joseph Otubu, who was the runner-up at the election, will be made the vice-president.
Both will serve in their positions for a period of three years.
