BREAKING: Shooting in Port Harcourt

• The city of Port Harcourt is in a frenzy following heavy guffaw 

• Police and suspected robbers are allegedly in a gun battle along GRA 

• There is heavy traffic within the city as a robbery is said to be in progress 

Reports suggests that there was a robbery amid heavy shootings around new GRA in Port Harcourt.

Sources say the shootings began in the evening on Wednesday, February 24.

The Vanguard reports that there was panic and tension as residents scampered for safety. Policemen were reportedly on the trail of the suspected armed robbers and that led to the sporadic shootings.

At press time, motorists were trapped in major traffic on adjourning streets in the area. When contacted, the state police spokesman, DSP Ahmad Muhammad said the operation was still on, adding that he could only give a clear picture of what was happening at the end of the operation.

Eyewitnesses say that a new generation bank at Birabi Street in the new GRA area was attacked by gunmen.

A resident simply named Kamal took to socio-media, sharing a photo and video that further gave insight as to the reported gun-battle within GRA.
