Manchester United's £35million bid for Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has been rejected. United are now set to make a revised bid and are ready to offer Ramos a deal worth £7.8m to move to Old Trafford. (Daily Mail)

Turkish wonderkid Enes Unal is close to joining Manchester City after Bursaspor gave him permission to fly to England. The highly-rated striker, 18, has already won an international cap and is expected to cost around £500,000. (The Sun)
Liverpool will continue to splash the cash, even after stumping up £12.5million to make Southampton defender Nathaniel Clyne their sixth signing of the summer. The Reds are expected to return to Aston Villa within the next few days with a £25m-plus offer for Christian Benteke. (Daily Mirror)

Toby Alderweireld is hoping to complete a move to Tottenham Hotspur after returning from his honeymoon in Bali. Tottenham are understood to be edging closer to agreeing a fee for Alderweireld with Atletico Madrid, who had tried to send the central defender to Chelsea as part of a bid to re-sign Filipe Luis. Watford are confident of landing Inter Milan midfielder Zdravko Kuzmanovic. The 27-year-old midfielder, who has 50 caps for Serbia, has been offered to the Hornets after being told he can leave his club. (Daily Mirror)
