It is no longer news that Professor Attahiru Jega’s tenure ends today. What is however news is that, the revered professor is handing over to a certain Ambassador (Dr.) Ahmed Wali, who many Nigerians do not know yet. 
Having researched on the new boss of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), we've compiled 5 facts you need to know about the new leader of the electoral body.

1. Dr. Wali is a graduate of  the Usman Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, where he studied Management. He went on to obtain an MBA from the  Ahmadu Bello University, Zaira.
2. He is a Muslim, Fulani by tribe, and hails from Sanyima town in Tambuwal Local Government Area of Sokoto State. He is from the same local government with the Governor of Sokoto state and former speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Aminu Tambuwal.
3. Wali is known at the INEC headquarters as the right hand man of Jega. He is always seated at the right hand side of the former INEC boss during his press conferences. He is also Jega’s former colleague at the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
4. Before he joined INEC, Wali was a Visiting Reader (Associate Professor) at the Department of Political Science, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, and
5. He is a member of various committees of INEC and the Chairman of the Tenders Board of the electoral body. He is also the Chief Executive Officer, Development Strategies International (DSI).
Much will be expected from the new INEC boss, as the achievements of Professor Jega has been hailed as one of the best in the position.
